Man Dies After Falling Off Elevator At WAEC Building

A man identified as an employee of the Odi-Olowo Local Council Development Area, Lagos, died on Wednesday after falling off a moving lift on the eighth floor of the 12-storey building of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). The spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Mr Joseph Jaiyeoba, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said that the mangled body of the deceased was recovered from the ground floor of the building.The victim, Fatai was said to have stepped out of the lift when the doors opened midway on the eighth floor, Fatai assumed that the lift had reached its destination, and he stepped into the air, fell off from the eight-floor till he hit the ground. However sources gathered that the elevators were not in proper shape.

The remains of the deceased had been deposited at the mortuary while police investigation continued into the matter. 

May his soul rest in peace, Nigeria has claimed another victim.

Reports have confirmed that Don Jazzy has moved into to a super expensive house inside Nicon Estate, in Lekki, Lagos. Sources say one of the reasons that informed Jazzy’s relocation, was when he discovered his partner Dbanj, with whom he recently split, had changed the keys and locked up the Lekki residence once occupied by himself and Don Jazzy. Don jazzy reportedly stayed with Mo’Hits friend at his 1004 residence, before moving into his own home.

Abu Qada's foster father was shot dead yesterday evening in Maiduguri, by gun men believed to be members of Boko Haram. Sources say the killing was probably a warning to the captured former spokesman, as it is believed that he's giving information to his captors on the sects activities.

Man Turns Wife Beater After 4 Days

A newly married man. Nicky Pearce, who is supposed to be having a blast with his bride currently cooling his feet behind the bars after accusing his wife flirting with the best man, then beat her up and smashed all their wedding gifts. The couple Tammy Driver, 21, and Nicky, 29, separated upon returning from their honeymoon weekend, following a violent row at their home near Aberdare, South Wales. Jealous Pearce flew into a drunken rage and attacked his new wife, grabbing her by the neck before allegedly biting her and breaking her nose. He has now been jailed for a year after admitting the assault.

Tibetan Protester Sets Himself On Fire

A Tibetan protester has been treated for severe burns after setting himself on fire in a demonstration during the Chinese president's visit to India.The unidentified male protester sprinted for 50m through New Delhi today engulfed in flames as hundreds demonstrated against China's rule over Tibet.The protester carried out the self-immolation as he ran near the speakers at a rally near the Indian Parliament in the country's capital. He collapsed after around 50m as fellow protesters beat out the flames with Tibetan flags they were carrying.

Woman Kills Daughter As Sacrifice For More Children

Its real strange the kind of things people do, sometime i really wonder if we are still living in the dark ages. Idenyi Abbah, a middle aged woman residing at Anumajogwu, in Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State has confessed to killing her 8-year-old daughter, Enyanwu, because she wanted more children.

Currently held at the Ukwo Police Station in Benue State, Abbah, who had one child for her husband, said she became envious when he married a second wife in a quest for more children. She then consulted a juju priest at Ikem in Anambra State, who allegedly asked her to sacrifice her only daughter to the Awube goddess.

Supreme Court Sacks Kebbi Governor

The Supreme Court yesterday brought the tenure of Governor Usman Sa’idu Dakingari of Kebbi State to an abrupt end when it nullified his election and ordered a fresh election to be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) within 90 days from the date of the judgment. This is the second time that a court would nullify his election since assuming office as governor of the state on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Tragedy At Ekpoma

Tragedy struck early today in Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, after seven female students fell into a well located inside one of the hostels inside the school compound while fetching water. Of the seven theat feel in, six were resuced, while one was lost on the way to the hospital.

Sad news, may their souls rest in peace.

Nigerian Woman Sets Drug Ingestion Record

Customs officials at Dulles International Airport say a Nigerian woman set an unfortunate record when she tried to smuggle almost five pounds of heroin into the country.

Authorities say 52-year-old Bola Adebisi  ingested 180 thumb-sized pellets filled with $150,000 worth of heroin. She is charged with drug smuggling in federal court. Officers became suspicious Saturday when she said she was coming to the U.S. to visit her brother, but couldn't describe him. A routine pat-down found her stomach to be abnormally rigid. An X-ray revealed the pellets and she was taken to the hospital.

In a purely symbolic ceremony, a 36-year-old “married” herself before a crowd of 45 friends and family members Saturday at Ecce Gallery in Fargo.

During the observance, the Fargo woman read her vows: “I, Nadine, promise to enjoy inhabiting my own life and to relish a lifelong love affair with my beautifulself.” She presented herself with a ring and invited all guests to “blow kisses to the whole world” at the point of the traditional, bride-groom lip-lock. News filtering in says late MC Loph's fiancée , Nkiru, has been delivered of a bouncing baby boy. Nkiru, who was pregnant at the time of her fiancé death delivered today Thursday,March 22,2012. The family of the late rapper are said to be excited at the birth of baby.

MC Loph died in a car accident with his sister along the Benin/Ore road last year on his way to his traditional wedding in the east.

Kim K, got the powder treatment  yesterday. Kim was at the London Hotel in West Hollywood for an event touting her new fragrance line, True Reflection.  She was walking the red carpet when a woman threw the white powder at her from behind, covering her back and her hair. 

Kim went to a private room, took the jacket off, brushed the powder off her hair and returned to the event.  But the fire department had to examine the powder and deal with any possible danger.

They determined it was cooking flour.d, covering her back and her hair.
