Boko Haram Attacks Kogi Prison, Updated




There was Prison break, Nigerian edition yesterday whe, Islamic Sect Boko Haram, stormed the Kogi Prisons killing a security man and set members free. Sources disclosed that they stormed the prison immediately after Magrib prayer. On arrival, the group opened fire on one of the securitymen at the gate and killed him on the spot. The source noted that the main gate of the prison was bombed by the sect’s members, numbering over 20. They thereafter proceed to freeing prisoners held there, while others escaped in the pandemonium. 

Update:  Reports have it that the Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS) has re-arrested 25 of the 119 inmates who escaped from the Koton-karfe prisons on Wednesday.Mrs Hadiza Aminu, the spokesperson of the service, on Thursday in Lokoja said that the re-arrested inmates were picked up in different locations in Koton-karfe and other villages on the Lokoja-Abuja highway between Wednesday night and Thursday.
